The new Royal Opera Season begins with both a favourite and a novel twist: Mozart’s elegant and witty Così fan tutte will be gracing the stage at Covent Garden and screened live to a host of cinemas across the UK.
Jonathan Miller’s clever production brings the action right up to date, emphasising that while fashions may have changed, human behaviour remains the same as ever. And while Mozart’s superlative score remains as beautiful as ever, the ways to watch this perennial favourite continuously evolve.
Così fan tutte opens at the Royal Opera House on September 10 and will be broadcast live in participating cinemas.
