Tonight is the second date of the BP Summer Screen season, showing the Royal Ballet’s triple bill Chroma, Tryst and Symphony in C, on a big screen in Trafalgar Square, London.

Wayne McGregor’s Chroma and Christopher Wheeldon’s Tryst are contemporary pieces, bold and striking, a fascinating insight for people new to ballet who are wary of fairies and princesses.

George Balanchine’s 1947 Symphony in C does not look incongruous besides these newer pieces and is an excellent example of the Russian choreographer's style and skill.

The screening features a recent performance from the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

Entrance is, of course, free. Chairs will be assembled for the screening, which starts at 7:30pm. Bring a cagoule, a blanket and a flask of tea and expect to be warmed up by some beautiful dancing.
